If still having issues, check the following:
Running first aid on the disk to check for errors in the storage? Slow loading times can be caused by corrupt sectors on a storage device.
You will also want to run a hardware check on the computer.
If all that checks out, try booting in verbose mode to see what is being loaded instead of the bar running across the screen. This will show if the bootup is hanging on a certain part of the startup process for you to investigate. You can enter verbose mode with the following instructions:
1. Power down the Mac.
2. When it starts up, immediately press and hold the Command and V keys.
3. Continue holding the keys until you see white text on the screen.
